Now that you have de-cluttered and chosen the quality items you want to sell, lets get into the tagging process. It is important that you follow this processes completely and accurately in order to become a successful seller. We are always here for any help or questions along the way!
When entering items, be as specific as possible. Include size, brand, color, number of pieces, and any other identifying information. This helps us in the event of losing a tag or misplacing part of an item. Check the discount and/or donate boxes if you wish to allow these for your items. If marked OK to discount, items will be discounted 50% off on Sunday, February 23rd.
Once items are entered, go to the Consignor Inventory Menu and Print Tags. Tags MUST be printed on WHITE card stock. You can also go to office stores to have tags printed and cut. Ensure the barcode is clearly printed on every tag and cut apart tags. If you change any details about an item after printing the tag, you must print a new tag in order to get paid for that item.
Large items will receive a Large Item Claim Ticket so their tags do not need to be attached. You will be given a Claim Ticket to attach your tag to during drop-off. If your item is something that is too large to carry, it will require a Claim Ticket. If you are unsure, we can help determine this at drop-off.
Items with small or multiple pieces must be put in a ziploc bag and taped together. Attach the tag on the FRONT of the item with clear or painters tape. Wooden puzzles can be wrapped in clear plastic wrap. Books being sold as a group should either be taped together or put into a ziploc bag. Carriers/Wraps must be hung and additional pieces/tags should be attached with a zip tie. Large items will receive a Large Item Claim Ticket so their tags do not need to be attached. You will be given a Claim Ticket to attach your tag to during drop-off.
Clothing must be hung with the hangers (wire preferred) facing left (Shaped like a question mark -?-). Use safety pins to secure to hangers if there are multiple items or if items do not hang properly. Pants should be safety pinned to the TOP of the hanger. All clothing will be sold WITH the hanger. All tags should be attached in the upper right corner. When attaching tags, use a 1 inch safety pin or fine needle tagging gun and attach through a seam or back of the neck to avoid holes. Shoes must be secured together with a zip tie.
Include Manuals - having a manual (whether it be the original one or one printed) helps items to sell faster. Most people don't know how to use every item so having a way for them to learn is beneficial for you and the buyer.
Reinforce tags with tape - When attaching a tape with zip ties, it is recommended to tape the top of the tag with clear packing tape and use a hole punch to create the hole. This will lessen the chance of tags getting lost.
Tape ziploc bags shut - To ensure items do not get taken our or moved around, it is best to tape the ziploc bag shut.
